Digital Camera’s and Camcorders
As lead technician I will always be directing my sub-techs with photography while investigating. Of course other investigators will have their own cameras. The tech team will have Static Camcorders, Handy cams, all with build-in night vision. Also Static cameras (ideal for trigger objects)
Lock-off zone: I feel taking pictures works better when the flash is used, BUT some people are Photo Sensitive (PS) which can trigger epilepsy, you should be careful of anyone who is PS and this should be established before any investigation begins to evade any nasty side effects. The tech team will use equipment to capture any strange noises, movement, lights, throughout the investigations.
Analogue/Digital Recorders ...used for gathering EVP evidence.
EVP’s: (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) are classified into 4 categories:
CLASS D: Inaudible whispers, breathing or wheezing noises fall into this category.
CLASS C: Barely audible, or require enhancement in order to be heard.
CLASS B: Are audible to the naked ear but there is some doubt as to what they`re saying.
CLASS A: 100% audible, they come through loud and clear and are intelligible words, NOT just random words.
Spirits are attracted to energy, and energy is produced through empathy, so the more you put out the more possibility there is of catching some evidence. Don’t be afraid to ask open-ended or basic Yes/No questions like “Is anybody here with me/us tonight?” and “What is your name?” Requests are another idea, giving instructions such as “This device I’m holding is an audio recorder. If you come close to me/us and speak into it, it will pick up your voice. Even if I/we can’t hear you, this machine can.” Try asking for permission as well, saying, “Would it be alright if I/We took your picture?" In fact, it is a good idea to make a general statement at the beginning of the hunt in an attempt to put any surrounding entities at ease by explaining that you are there to investigate and observe. Stress that you are not there to do any harm or vandalize the area, and that you come in peace and would like to record, if that’s alright with them. The tech team will of course be recording all our investigations for tha elusive evidence, analyzing them with our EVP expert Robin, after the investigation.
Digital Thermometer:
Techs will always use a digital thermometer to assess any fluctuation in temperature before and during the investigation. If we come across a major drop in temperature while we are doing a vigil it is possible that an energy might be trying to manifest.
Dowsing:
Another way of contacting spirit energies is DOWSING. Many dowsers today use a pair of simple L-shaped metal rods. One rod held in one hand, with the short arm of the L-held upright, and long arm pointing forward, when something is found, the rods will cross over one another making an `X`over the found object or energy.
Trigger Objects:
During the investigation we will be conducting different exercises in which we use trigger objects and set-up static camcorders in (night-vision) aiming to capture any paranormal movement of the trigger objects while no-one is in view or near! Trigger objects can be left in a zone called a Lock-Off Zone. In these areas our team of investigators can be sure that no one has been near to touch or interfere with the objects other than energies that where present on the investigation.
Camcorders will be set-up on tri-pods to observe the objects while the groups are doing vigils around the area. Our Lead Technician will inform investigators when they are placed and where they will be, so it is important to be careful not to touch the equipment.
2-Way Radio’s:
2-Way radios are a good way to keep in contact when spread out on a large scale in multiple groups on investigations. Generally each team has a nominated member who will send back info when it is found.
And remember.....
Health and Safety for you and the Team are very important. Using the equipment means responsibility for your actions, and communication between groups, everyone has a responsibility not just people who operate the equipment. have memory cards from your Digital cameras, we can load them onto Laptops for analyzing.
